Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Drift ("Drift", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website and service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1.Overview
We collect the minimum information needed to run your account, produce videos on your instructions, publish them to channels you connect, take payment, and keep the Service secure and working. We do not sell your personal information.
2.Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information from Google sign-in — your name, email address and profile image.
- Channel authorisation — access tokens and the channel/account details needed to upload and manage videos you create, within the scopes you approve.
- Content and settings — the topics, niches, cadence, voice and style choices you enter, and the scripts, audio, images and videos generated from them.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We receive billing metadata (such as plan, status and the last four digits/brand of your card) but we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications — messages you send us, such as support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — actions in the app, production status and logs, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Device data — IP address, browser type and similar technical information.
- Cookies — used for sign-in sessions and essential functionality (see section 6).
3.How we use information
- To provide the Service — generate, schedule and publish videos on your instructions;
- To authenticate you and maintain your session;
- To process payments, manage subscriptions and credits;
- To provide support and respond to your requests;
- To monitor, secure, debug and improve the Service;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in operating the Service as the legal bases for this processing, depending on the context.
4.Google & YouTube API data
Drift uses YouTube API Services and other Google APIs to let you sign in and to upload, schedule and manage videos on your channel. By using these features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- We access your Google/YouTube data only to provide and improve user-facing features of the Service, consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- We do not use Google/YouTube user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to others except as needed to provide the Service, with your consent, or as required by law.
- We do not use this data to train generalised AI/ML models.
- You can revoke Drift's access to your Google data at any time via your Google account permissions page.
5.Service providers we share data with
We share information with trusted providers strictly to operate the Service. These include hosting and infrastructure, Google/YouTube (sign-in and publishing), Stripe (payments), and AI providers used to generate text, speech, images and to source stock footage. Each receives only the data needed for its function and is bound to protect it. A current list is available on request.
6.Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember a topic you enter before sign-up. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling essential cookies may break sign-in and other features.
7.Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for the period required to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations or to resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated content, subject to those obligations.
8.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have specific rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, contact us at kris.engelhardt4@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first. The Service is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 and older.
9.Security & transfers
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to credentials and tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10.Contact & changes
We may update this policy from time to time; we will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Questions or requests? Contact us at kris.engelhardt4@gmail.com.
