Refunds & Cancellation
Last updated 13 June 2026
This Refunds & Cancellation Policy explains how billing, credits, cancellation and refunds work for Drift ("Drift", "we", "us"). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Current prices and plan allowances are shown on our pricing page.
1.Overview
Drift is a subscription service that delivers a digital service — automated video production — that begins immediately and consumes resources (compute and paid third-party AI, voice, media and processing) as soon as a production run starts. In short: you can cancel any time and you will not be billed again, but paid fees and used credits are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
2.Plans & credits
Production is metered in credits. Unless stated otherwise at purchase, a long-form video costs 10 credits and a Short costs 2 credits. Each paid plan includes a monthly credit allowance that refreshes at the start of each billing period. Unused credits do not roll over and have no cash value. A credit is considered used when a production run is queued.
3.Free trial
Where offered, the free trial includes one full production run at no charge and does not require a payment card. The trial is provided "as is", and we may change or withdraw trial terms at any time. No payment is taken for the trial, so no refund applies to it.
4.Billing & renewals
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method the plan fee on each renewal date until you cancel. We do not store your full card details; Stripe processes and stores payment information under its own terms. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend production until payment succeeds.
5.How to cancel
You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing in your account, which opens the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period — you keep access and any remaining monthly credits until then — and you will not be charged again. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for the unused part of a period that has already been paid for. You can also delete your account entirely; deleting your account does not by itself trigger a refund.
6.Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated here, fees are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for:
- partial or unused subscription periods;
- unused or expired credits;
- credits already spent on production runs (the work and third-party costs have been incurred);
- content you are dissatisfied with, or that a platform declines to monetise, age-restricts, removes or otherwise actions;
- account suspension or termination resulting from a breach of our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy.
We may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund or account credit in individual cases — for example a clear service fault on our side, a duplicate charge, or a charge after a valid cancellation. To request one, contact kris.engelhardt4@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge with your account email and details.
7.Statutory rights (consumers)
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants a right to cancel a distance purchase (such as the 14-day right of withdrawal in the EU and UK), that right applies as the law provides. Because Drift is a digital service that starts immediately, by starting to use the Service — including queuing your first production run — within any cooling-off period, you expressly request that we begin performance immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, and that for partial performance you may be charged for what has been provided, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights that cannot be waived.
8.Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than your bank. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in suspension or termination of your account while the dispute is investigated.
9.Price & service changes
We may change prices, plan features or credit costs with notice; changes take effect from your next billing period and never retroactively for periods already paid. We may also change or discontinue parts of the Service; if we discontinue a paid plan you are on, we will let you cancel and, where appropriate, refund any prepaid fee for the remaining unused period.
