Terms of Service
Last updated 13 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Drift ("Drift", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the Drift website, application and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.Agreement to terms
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organisation.
2.The service
Drift is an automated production service for online video channels. Based on the topics, settings and cadence you choose, Drift researches subjects and generates scripts, voiceovers, footage selections, motion graphics, captions, thumbnails and packaging, and — where you connect a channel — schedules and publishes the resulting videos on your behalf.
Drift is a tool that assists you in producing and publishing content. You remain the publisher and the responsible party for everything posted to your channels. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including views, watch time, subscribers, monetisation eligibility or revenue.
3.Accounts & channel access
You sign in using Google. By connecting a Google or YouTube account, you authorise Drift to access and use that account as needed to provide the Service (for example, to upload, schedule and manage videos you create with Drift), within the scopes you approve. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
You may revoke Drift's access at any time through your Google account permissions. Revoking access may stop scheduled uploads and other features from working.
4.Your content & ownership
As between you and Drift, you own the videos, scripts, voiceovers, thumbnails and other outputs that Drift generates for you, to the extent such outputs are eligible for ownership and subject to the terms of the third-party tools used to create them. You are free to publish them anywhere.
You grant Drift a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, transmit and display your topics, settings and generated content solely to operate and improve the Service and to publish on your behalf where you direct us to.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your content and its publication comply with all applicable laws and with the terms and policies of any platform you publish to, including the YouTube Terms of Service and YouTube's policies on spam, deceptive practices and repetitious content.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, schedule or publish content, or to act, in any way that:
- violates any law or regulation, or infringes the intellectual-property, privacy or other rights of others;
- is fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or promotes violence or self-harm;
- contains sexual content involving minors, or other content prohibited by applicable law;
- impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation;
- violates the terms or policies of YouTube, Google, or any other platform you connect or publish to;
- attempts to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- resells, sublicenses or white-labels the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, and may remove or refuse to process content at our discretion.
This is a summary. See our full Acceptable Use Policy for detail.
6.Plans, credits, billing, refunds & cancellation
Credits. Production is metered in credits. A long-form video costs 10 credits and a Short costs 2 credits, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase. Plan allowances and pricing are shown on our pricing page.
Subscriptions. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal until you cancel. Monthly credit allowances do not roll over unless expressly stated.
Free trial. Where offered, the free trial includes one full production run at no charge and does not require a card. We may change or withdraw trial terms at any time.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access and remaining monthly credits until then, and you will not be charged again.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods, unused credits, or content you are dissatisfied with. We may, at our sole discretion, offer a refund or credit in individual cases. Statutory rights that cannot be waived are unaffected.
Price changes. We may change prices or plan features with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
7.Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers to function, including Google and YouTube (sign-in and publishing), and providers of AI text, voice, image and stock-media generation, and payment processing. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. Drift's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
8.Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including the software, design, branding, "Drift" name and logo, and all related materials — is owned by Drift and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our marks or software except the limited right to use the Service as permitted here.
9.Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that automatically generated content will be accurate, lawful or suitable, or that your content will be approved, monetised or perform in any way. You are responsible for reviewing content before and after it is published.
10.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drift and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or channel standing, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Drift harmless from any claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
11.Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required to comply with law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, liability and indemnification) will survive.
12.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Drift is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
